This is a template to generate links to interviews of specific people at the [[Archive of American Television]] website. It should only be used in the "external links" section of an article.

To link a specific television program, use {{Tl|EmmyTVLegends title}}.

== Usage ==
The '''required''' parameter is the ID text. The template then uses the article title as the [[anchor text]]:

To have the link text be other than the article name, use second parameter:

#Go to [http://www.emmytvlegends.org/interviews/people emmytvlegends.org] and search for the person you want
#Click on the correct link to go to the person page
#The URL will look like this: <code><nowiki>http://www.emmytvlegends.org/interviews/people/</nowiki></code>. Copy the part of the url which is substituted here with <nowiki></nowiki>. This will be the first parameter (or <code>id=</code>).
#Add the person's name in the next parameter (or <code>name=</code>) if it is different from the page name.
#Add one of the following to the external links section of the article:

This can be used when the Wikipedia page name contains disambiguation brackets; for example at the page [[Robert Butler (director)]] use <code><nowiki>{{EmmyTVLegends name|robert-butler|Robert Butler}}</nowiki></code> to have "{{EmmyTVLegends name|robert-butler|Robert Butler}}" rather than "{{EmmyTVLegends name|robert-butler|Robert Butler (director)}}". This is also necessary should you need to add an interview link to an article about somebody or something other than the linked person (for example, if you include the link for [[Steve Allen]] in the ''[[Meeting of Minds]]'' article, you must specify "Steve Allen" as the text for the link using this option).

# Copy and paste one of the options above into the article
# Go to http://www.emmytvlegends.org/interviews/people and search for the person you want (say, Dick Cavett; you'll reach <code>http://www.emmytvlegends.org/interviews/people/dick-cavett</code>)
# Copy {{em|only}} the text after <code>/people/</code> (here, "<code>dick-cavett</code>")
# Replace "<code>ID</code>" in the template code with the text
## For the first option above, you'll then have
