Sadly, the rise of open access has caused a proliferation of amateur, shoddy and "predatory" open access publishers. Regretfully, a number of these appear to eminate from India. It is critically important that from day 1 efforts must include a strong focus on brand/image/public perception/quality/ethics etc to counter being "tarnished with the same brush".
