Prolog
This is a project to create standard set of fonts in Malayalam language open type format for general use in web, computers, typesetting and print. The fonts shall have following salient features:
- shall have comprehensive set of Malayalam glyphs as provided in Unicode version 6.3.
- shall have the following weights and shapes:
- normal or medium
- medium italic
- bold
- bold italic
- following variants will be added in future:
- thin, light, semi bold, extra bold, heavy, black
- condensed and bold condensed
- narrow regular, condensed, wide and extra wide
- fonts shall have all the essential open type features required for Indic fonts [1]:
