The template is useful for inserting a quotation in multiple languages inside articles.
Note: in order to limit the strain on Wikimedia Foundation's servers, please do not use the template outside of the articles. Use instead the low quotation marks (« ») to indicate that it is a quote.
For Quranic quotes there is the template QuoteQuran.
See also the template Rquote for short literary quotes within the text.
For something in a single language use Template:Quote.
Where to insert it
Whenever a quote is not specifically related to a paragraph of an article, its insertion requires a supplement of reflection (see Wikipedia:Quotes); if it seems useful to insert the multilingual quote template at the beginning of the page, before the first section initial section, just keep in mind that if there is a disambiguation or any kind of vertical template in the article, the quote must be inserted before the text of the article or of other templates, underneath these templates.
Usage
In order to use the template multilingual quote write:
- if you don't want Title and Author to be wikilinked, take out the square brackets;
- use only <br /> for new lines (don't use ENTER);
- any other quotes within the one you use the template for must be between quotation marks (" "): see also the Manual of Style.
If instead you must insert a quote in English and one in another language write:

If instead you must insert a quote in two languages other than English write:
